Women up for the Draft

Women for the draft

For the longest time women have not been able to join the ranks of every military operation or join whatever job or MOS that they desired. Since Shaye Haver became the first ranger April 27th 2016 and before the debate has been on. With the push for woman’s equality in all fields (which is a stride being made) and in the draft historically woman have not been part of. Men from the age of 18 to 26 must register for the draft. With a push from the Obama Administration and the house of representatives also voting for it women must now ALSO register for the draft from the age of 18 to 26 years old. This includes all lines of duty from nurses to combat. Opening up a new frontier in what we call a soldier. Women up for the draft the  last time that we have used the draft was in 1973 to a Russian invasion to Afghanistan.

It seems that one nation that has been on the news often lately the Kurds beat us to the punch but, better late then never. Whoever turns 18 on or after January 1, 2018 will be required to register and failure to register will not be eligible for the federal pell grant, financial aid and many other government funded programs. Please let us know what you think about this. Are you excited? or a little cautious? I think that it’s a big step for equality and advancement. Either way though I hope that we don’t have to introduce our female counter parts or anyone to a new draft for that means more chaos, more death more war and more fighting.
